Wren Nesting In Hanging Basket

by Barbara Hewitt
(Middlesbrough Cleveland England)

We have a wren nesting in our large hanging basket. I have just seen the first baby emerge clinging to the wall as it made it's way up.

Mum/Dad sitting on the shed roof giving encouragement to fly it was almost as though I has given birth myself!!!

I can't believe how much work they have to do to rear their young it's a good job it only lasts a short while but what a sight to see.

We have only ever had blue tits nesting in our bird boxes but this was something else what an experience.
