Tweety

by Maddie DPaoli

Last year I found a baby bird. I named her tweety. I live in a small neighborhood so everyone knew about it pretty quick. I practically had all the kids in my garage at once!

When I was alone I tried to teach her to fly. I'd put her on my finger and jerk my finger upward and she'd flap her wings and then land on the grass.

I usually fed her a lot. I'd feed her tiny chopped up worms. She seemed to like them. This year I'm hoping to find another bird like her. But eventually (about a week) she learned to fly better and flew away.

I had some pretty good times with her like, when I flung her off my finger and she tried to fly I turned around to say something to my friend and when I turned around I couldn't see her. I was starting to panic then. I checked in so many places. But her chirping gave her away and I found her.

Well I'm going to start looking for another one and I hope I do. Raising Tweety was really fun!
