Thousands of Blackbirds Roosting

I was able to get video of thousands of Blackbirds coming to roost for the night at the local wetlands.

For nearly a half hour they continued flying overhead at about twelve feet above ground. While I've seen plenty of flocks of birds I've never seen so many so close.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of Red-winged Blackbirds or Grackles it was still a sight to be seen. Stick it out for the whole two minutes to really get the sense of what it was like. Here's the video:

Now that is what I call a flock of birds. A little eerie though ~ kind of like Hitchcock's "The Birds". ;-)
