The Nesting Sled

by Roger Tulk
(Ontario, Canada)

About ten years ago, I had left the door of my back shed open for several days.

I went in to get something, and discovered that robins had built a nest on the front ski of one of my children's steerable snow sled.

I nailed the door of the shed open, and we watched from the house as the parents flew back and forth maintaining their family until they were ready to leave.

We've had many robins' nests about the yard, but that was the most interesting.
