This little bird house has been up for a few years. This year we finally had "wren"ters. It's fun to watch them fly in one side and out the other!

House Wren / Birdhouse

Hi! This is a house wren. It's the female. I watched the male as he brought her to this house and sang to her as she went and inspected it. Pretty soon they were padding the nest. We have four dogs and this birdhouse is on the deck, so I was afraid she would get spooked, but so far so good. The birdhouse itself came from a little store in Tennessee, but I've seen it other places. Try searching on "nostril birdhouse" or "nose birdhouse." I bet you can find one.

This picture is the BEST!! What a GREAT birdhouse!! What kind of Wren was it? I have Cactus Wrens. This one looks like a fledgling, regardless.. but what an entertainment piece!! A hiding spot for sure! soooo funny.
