Prettily Perched

New Perched Feeder

New Perched Feeder

Here in Oklahoma it's early in the season, April 11, and I set out the feeders for the migrating hummingbirds.

This year I perched a feeder in my barred window and fastened a piece of barbed wire (as a perch) to it.

The hummingbirds entertain me all day as they come in to feed and rest a while on the perch.

Sometimes they will sit on the barbed wire for ten or fifteen minutes before they resume to eating from the feeder.
