Our First Bluebird Pair!

by Ron and Mary Raburn
(Midlothian, TX, Ellis County)

This pair is located in Midlothian, Texas, about 30 miles south of Dallas.

My husband and I noticed a pair in the late fall getting a drink from our bird bath. We thought they were migrating through the area, but evidently they decided to stay.

There is a bird house in a nearby tree and we have an old picnic table nearby that we use to spread food for the wild birds.

We noticed the blue birds again around the last week of February and realized they were building a nest in the house.

We do not have pictures to share, but are very excited they have taken up residence in our back yard.

We have not seen blue birds in this area before, so we are very honored and feel this is a real treat!
