Night Stalker

I was sitting outside at about 11 p.m. It was dark and raining. There was a car parked in front of my neighbours home and the lights were shinning.
I saw something flying and my first thought was, do butterflies fly around in the rain. Within seconds I realized it was a hummingbird.
I sat very still and it flew around my legs, then up to my hanging baskets, and was extracting nectar from the flowers.
I watched this little guy for about eight minutes. I am just so amazed. I don't know alot about hummingbirds, I put small hummingbird feeders above my hanging baskets.
I put one on my window at the back of my home and they come there all the time to feed. Its one of those ones that attaches to the window by suction cup.
I never dreamed they would actually come and feed. I really hope to learn more about them. I also never thought I would see one at night feeding and in the rain. Is this unusual?
I have no plants at all in my back yard as it is a new townhouse complex and we just had our back yard fenced in. So other that the feeder on the window there really is not anything else that would attract them.
I am just now starting to read up on them. Thats how I ended up here, I was trying to find out more about their habits. I consider myself very fortunate to have these little beauties coming to my home.
I am including a picture but it is not very good. This picture is of the feeder in my back yard that is stuck to the window.
I have been trying to get a picture for weeks now but just can't seem to pick the right time. When I don't grab my camera he seems to stay longer, plus I don't have a very good camera.
Almost makes me want to go out and buy a real good camera now.
Thanks for letting me share my story.
