Nesting Inside The Garage

Several days I watched a male & Female coming to the door of our garage with what I thought to be insects in their bills.
The birds sat on the fence pickets by the door and fly onto a wreath on the door. If I came near, they flew away.
At the same time I continued to see pine straw, leafs and other debris on the garage floor next to my car. Messy kids I thought!
The following day I watched one of the birds fly into our garage, landing on top of the garage door opener!
To my surprise I watched as they put the finishing touches onto the nest. I then looked and saw plenty of bird-nesting materials on top of my car......guess the kids weren't the messy ones!
I guess the door's openings and closings complete with the activated light doesn't bother them....mmmmmm maybe it aids in egg hatching, the heat of the motor along with the light bulb!
Previous years we've found a nest in the garage all in the back on a shelf in a cooler. We've had them in the chimnera too!
All I've wanted was the perennial hanging flower basket.....Carolina wrens do the darndest things!
I'll try to post a picture later.
