My Robin Robby

by Cheryl Knox
(Springfield, Iillinois)

My son and I found a baby robin last year, yes I did take it in.

Boy was I busy. It was early spring so at first I bought worms, then every day and evening I would dig worm's, the robin would sleep out in a box once it was old enough.

I had a special whistle that I would use when feeding the robin. One day it just started flying.

Every morning when I got up the robin would fly to my back porch and I would feed it a few worm's.

Off it would go so when ever it needed a free worm it would fly to my porch sing to let me know it was there.

At the end I couldn't even drive my car up cause the robin would fly straight for me.

One day it just took off.

I miss Robby. Would I save another? yes...
