My Hummingbird Surprise

by angela
(california)

About a couple of days ago I saw a hummingbird carrying somenthing in her beak. It was unusual to me because I've never seen them carrying any thing, I've seen them drinking the sweet water I put out.

I followed the bird and he went right on my rose bush, just like I read here on a angle but it is secured as if they put glue on the branch.

I keep an eye on her because of windy time here. Iam watching to make sure all is ok, took some pictures and shared them with friend and family.

Maybe they think it is stupid but it is the most exciting thing i seen so far in my life, how interesting it is!!

The way the nest is built it is so perfect, so secure so beautiful, and one day there was one egg, (which I was surprise how big it was compared to the size of the bird) Then the next day I went to check on them and there were two eggs (just like you said here).

I see mom sit on the egg and unfortunately because I have two dogs and they go in the back yard it disturbes her, but I think she is used to the dogs and me keeping an eye on them.

I want to make sure they are ok, I took some pictures and i will see if I can download it to share with you!

I am so excited! i feel just like I am giving birth!!! wow!

No matter how old we are? it is always beautiful to learn !!!

Thanks for letting me share.

Angela

PS. for some reason i am having trouble attaching the pictures it is a shame they are great! maybe I can mail them?
