Little Bird

by Geoffrey Campbell
(Tarpon Springs, FL)

Hi,

I found a little bird without feathers under my lemon tree in Arizona, its eyes were not even open.

Since I could not find the nest, I bought some baby bird formula, called authorities, and they told me how to feed the bird.

I ended up feeding it once every twenty minutes, I brought it to work with me, fed it whenever it bobbed its little head with its open mouth.

I had to use a special feeder and insert it carefully to one side of the beak. In a matter of weeks it was fully grown.

I would come home from work and for a short while it allowed me to feed it. Sadly, after a while I saw it less and less, and one day it left me forever.

I loved that little bird.

it's a happy ending
by: Mary Ann

What an amazing story--with a wonderful ending. It's the best thing possible that it slowly went out on its own. Had it stopped showing up one day, I would've worried that it had been hurt. But the gradual 'weaning' lets you know that it was finding its way in the natural world. What a lucky little bird.

It very well could be that your little bird is still around or if he has moved south for the winter he well come home in the spring// You may not know him from other birds like him but I`m thinking that he well be there// Find out what kind of bird he is and put out the food he would like// You never know, some day a little bird may come perch on you windowsill and act like he belongs there//

Fantastic Short Story
by: Bill

What a great story about the love you have for God's creatures. He gives them to us to observe and sometimes to protect.

Thanks for sharing.

Blessings.
