Keeping a Watchful Eye
In June of 2008, my husband Louis, purchased a new digital camera as a surprise for me. Our son Ryan, was visiting us from Jacksonville, Fl. at the time. Being back home, Ryan was excited to try out the new camera. He ran out in the yard and began taking pictures.
We had Eastern Bluebirds raising their young in one of our old Bluebird houses, but Ryan was unaware of this. He was just enjoying snapping pictures, and checking the quality of the pictures as he went.
Soon, he came back in the house to show me the pictures he had taken. Imagine our surprise when we took a closer look at the Bluebird house. There inside the house was the watchful eyes of the mother or father Bluebird!! That same pair of Bluebirds are now on their second nesting this year and we still enjoy watching them everyday.
This year though, we purchased them a new Bluebird house, created especially for Bluebirds, made by my brother Johnny out of flagstone rock.
Not only is it unique and beautiful it will last forever. The Bluebirds chose this over their old wooden Bluebird house and I never have to worry about rotting wood again!!
