Is There Hope

by Traci
(Alma, AR)

This year, I was blessed with a mama wren and 4 babies in my pot of sweet potatoe vines and wavy petunias on the rail of my deck!

We have mini weenies (4) and a collie so I have to keep my flowers up so they don't destroy them!!!

Last night a very violent storm blew thru. I was tempted to move the pot under the covered part of our deck, but didn't for fear that by me moving them, she wouldn't come back.

To my horror, this morning the pot had blown over onto the deck and 4 babies laid outside the nest on the deck.

I am guessing them to be maybe a week old now. They are all still alive and I ever so gently put them back into the nest as best as I could. Will the parents come back???

I read that birds do not sense the human touch, so hopefully yours will be back. They are pretty determined little guys.
