Front Porch Nesters

by Michal
(Indianapolis, IN)

For the last several years the house wrens have taken up residence on my front porch, building in a hanging basket or potted plant on a table.

They provide many hours of enjoyment as we watch them build and raise their young.

Our cat sits in the window and watches them, often being scolded by the wrens if they see her.

They previously built in a wren house, but seem to like my front porch better.
