This is the second one I have found in the same exact spot, the first was hairless and eyes closed. this one looks like it could fly off at any time. I heard a finch making a ruckus outside and went out to see and one of the parents was pushing it under the stairs.
That's why I came here to find out what to do. so I left it alone, its very well hidden from people and the mom or dad is constantly guarding. Someone put a little bowl of water for it which I thought was funny.
The only thing is there is like 10 cats that hang out in the area, I will just walk my rottweiler twice as often for a couple of days. My rottweiler doesn't even notice the bird.
My other dog wants to go right up to it and she starts whining. I have to keep her away I was afraid she might scare it to death or something. It's strange since my cat died, which I had from 1990 till 2007, my female dog whines at any animal she sees, especially cats.
Well this was a very informative site, now I'm going to try to find the answer to a question i've wanted to know for a while now, why do I never see baby pigeons?
I see baby ravens, baby robins, baby dove, baby finches, baby ducks, but never baby pigeons.
