Doves Nesting In Plant Container

Keeping The Eggs Nice And Warm

Keeping The Eggs Nice And Warm

I was wondering for a few days why every time I opened the front door a dove would fly away...Then I discovered that they had built a nest in where I had a spider plant, the plant died a while ago but I just left it up there.

I was very happy and excited for the eggs to hatch at first there was only one egg but now there's two however they been there for about three weeks and still haven’t hatched.

I hope they will hatch soon and aren't bad, I want to check the eggs but know its best not to interfere.

The male dove is used to me now and lets me take a closer look they're so cute.

I've included a picture of him sitting on the eggs.

Same situation in AZ
by: Tina

Hi I live in AZ also,I also have a Planter with a dead plant well no plant just potting soil! My Doves sit a little lower before the babies were born and your photo is exactly like what my Male dove looks like after the babies are born. Did your doves eggs ever hatch? I have had 2 babies and 4 days later they are here again on their 2nd nest. Im sure the babies are being born as we speak as I can see him pecking at the eggs. My Nest is too high for me to see without them gone from their nest. This time I only have seen them gone one time and saw 2 eggs. So its been 2 weeks so I am sure the babies are here today! I hope you get this message! My Story is the 1st one on the site right now. Let me know OK? Its SO WONDERFUL watching nature!

Plant Dove
by: Loli

I love the photo. One thing I am finding out about all these doves, they seem to not mind being near us humans. Very interesting. Ours, the ones on the patio ceiling fan, are still tending the nest. We are waiting for the birth of the little ones. When that happens, I think I will post another photo.
