Doves In Our Garage

by Nancy Buckley
(Naples, FL)

We noticed the twigs on a shelf in front of my car one morning last week. Lo and behold a few days later a Dove was sitting in the golf bag cover with the nest on top of it on the shelf.

Today we noticed both Doves in the nest. No eggs yet but the birds have made a safe nest in the garage. The only problem we can foresee is that we close the garage door when we go out during the daytime and again at night.

We figure the doves feel safe having their offspring inside our garage because the trees that they have used in the past were raided by animals and the babies were eaten. Therefore we have the perfect garage shelf for their nest.

Now we just need to get them on our schedule so that they can get in and out when we are around and the door is open...any suggestions?

Let me get this straight - get the WILD BIRDS onto YOUR SCHEDULE? Surely I did not read that correctly.
