Doves In Grape Vine.

by Lauren
(Adelaide, South Australia, Australia)

At the moment I have a little Dove living in my grapevine.

As far as I know they are up to their second lot of eggs. The first lot of little ones I only discovered after they were hatched and not long after that they were gone.

I'm assuming either they had left the nest or my stupid cat ate them.

Now they are up to their second lot of eggs. The other day my dad went to have a quick peek to see how they were going, and yes, the Dove got scared and one of the eggs fell out of the nest and cracked.

But after reading this site, I should have don that first before we had a look at the nest again, as it says on this site that the dove may get scared and the eggs might fall out of the nest.

Also on this site it says that the male will incubate during the day and the female will incubate at night.

This whole time I thought it was only one Dove sitting in the nest...LOL, Well they all do look the same! This has been a very informative site... Thank You :)

P.S. I would love to post some pics on here but I'm too scared to take any in case the Dove gets scared and more eggs fall out of the nest... SORRY
