Brick Bird Bungalow

Brick Bird Bungalow

This fine bird house is not the first brick bird house I have painted, but it is one of the nicest brick jobs I have done on my bird houses.

It is made from 1x6 pine, 4 inch walls, 1 1/2 hole size. It is a regular 45 angle roof bird box with an extended floor to make the front yard an driveway.

You have to cut a square piece of wood off of the roof, so when it overlaps at the peak, the bottom of your roof is even.

The square piece I cut 1 1/4 long rounded the top with my utility knife. Then I drilled a hole in the bottom 3/8 deep and drilled the same in the front yard an used a dowl rod to mount the mailbox.

I then took the square stock I had cut off the roof piece measured 2 1/2 inches short side and cut at a 45 degree angle to make the chimney.

Two holes drilled in the front yard and a piece of galvanized hanging wire hold down the Maisto 1:18 scale replica Honda 600 gpz in case their wings are tired from migration. They can use the bike to fly on the ground.
