Bluebirds bullied by Mockingbirds?

I have a bluebird house that has been very successful over the last two years. I have had at least 4 couples nest over the spring and summer last year.

This year, about a month and a half ago, I saw my first pair carrying twigs and building their nest. Then, about three weeks ago - they disappeared. I thought maybe a hawk was threatening them or some other predator.

Well, they came back two days ago, and were trying to get their nest ready - and a mockingbird couple starts swooping down over the nest chasing them off each time. I have never seen this behavior between these two types of birds and am wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

The bird house is an approved design for bluebirds. I have had Mockingbirds for many years, and have not seen this behavior with the Bluebirds. I have seen them chasing Crows, however. I haven't seen the Mockingbirds trying to get into the house. What are they protecting?

I have enjoyed my Bluebirds so much. I can not imagine a summer without hearing the little chirps as the mom brings food to her babes. I will attach some pics of my birds last season. I hope I can find a solution to this problem so I can enjoy my Bluebirds this season also.
