Blue Birds On Kitchen Window

by Marcille
(De Berry, Tx., USA)

I have 2 bluebird houses on my back cyclone fence.
I have noticed about 4 pair of birds.

About a week ago, they started coming on the patio & to my kitchen window. They peck on the glass above the screen. I can walk to the window & they will fly to the top of the swing and look at me.

I can't figure out what they want. They need something, but what. I live in the country, so they have water & food.

How do I figure out what they need? All they do is look at me and chirp. I have a bird bath that is now on the patio floor.

Could they want me to put it on the pedestal with water in it?

This is a mystery. If anyone knows what is going on, let us know

Blue Bird Terrorist
by: Andrea

I call it the Blue Bird Terrorist! This bird has been hanging on our screens, banging into all of our windows and watching us for two weeks now. Our house, windows and screens are covered in poop! I've tried hanging towels over the windows, spraying them with water, I even put a picture of an owl in the window and nothing works. It just watches us and knocks on the windows. How do I get it to stop this behavior?

My windows

We also have a bluebird pair who have recently chosen our son's homemade birdhouse for a nesting site. We are overjoyed with their arrival and decision to make a home in his birdhouse.

After they decided to choose the birdhouse for home, the territory from other birds began. Squirrels are not exempt from their wrath either. One got chased up and down the tree for approximately 10 minutes until the squirrel left in exhaustion.

Earlier in the day the pair began pecking and banging on our windows in self defense. Since our windows are tinted with a reflective coating, we could understand why they were doing this. I set up a light mist from our lawn sprinkler to spray on the windows to discourage their activity and it seems to work. After getting wet once or twice they gave up the battle and went back to work building the nest.

We are looking forward to seeing babies soon, and hopefully more bluebirds in the future.

Blue bird stares at car window
by: Anonymous

my parents have a blue bird who constantly stares at himself for hours on end at there side view mirrors on there cars....they eventually had to start putting towels over the mirrors b/c the bird was pooping all over the cars. He finds a way to do it every day. Most the time hes only attracted to my dads car. Totally weird yet hilarious!

another mind boggler

I was at my computer this morning on the opposite side of the house, when one of the Bluebirds came to the window. I still can't figure out what they want.

Also, bluebirds at window
by: Shorty7113

I, also, have 4 female bluebirds desperately trying to get into my house. I believe they are this springs hatchlings. They started in spring for most of the daylight hours then slowed down to every other day or two and started back this fall. Gave them a house on my porch which they perch on, go inside then back out. What's going on? What should I do?
