Blessed With Dove Nesting

How great to have found your website with all that wonderful information. I, too, was worried that the same bird would starve since I thought it was always the same bird I'd see on the nest, day and night. What a relief to learn that two birds share their duty.
A few days ago I noticed a lovely bird sitting in a small basket in a corner of my 4th floor balcony. What a pleasant surprise to see such a lovely creature so close to me. I feel truly blessed.
After noticing the bird on the nest, I called a friend of mine who knows a lot about birds and she immediately told me: "God has sent you the lovely creature." Her words really touched my heart because I've been going through a rough time lately. My friend advised me not to touch the nest and also not to disturb the birds.
Another friend lent me one of her books on local birds so that I could identify which bird was nesting on my balcony and indeed I learned that mourning doves had built a nest there. They don't seem to be afraid of me. Any time I look through the sliding glass door, the nesting bird will also look at me with those bright eyes.
I look forward to seeing the little ones soon. Again, the reason why I'm saying I feel blessed is because I've been residing in a building with 300 apts., each apt. has a balcony, and it's so beautiful that those adorable mourning doves have selected to build their nest so close to me on my balcony.
This is my very first experience with having a nest on my balcony and I've been living in the same apt. for many years.
Today I read all of the entries posted by the other people reporting Dove Nestings near their homes and I really enjoyed them. Just great stories.
Many thanks for the great information available on your site.
